Just some of the things we do!
If its a funfair, a trip to the Zoo, a flight over Birmingham to pickup Santa Claus before he delivers his gifts to our happy jetsetters, a day out at West Midlands Safari Park or an
adventure day, Variety Club Midlands is here to help. And
in many other ways.

We provided a £30,000 17-seater tail-lift Sunshine Coach to Hall Green School in Birmingham which was sponsored by The Bank of Scotland and handed over by the singing legends TheThree Degrees (right) and comedian Bobby Davro.
The Bank also sponsored a second coach this year which was presented to Foxwood School in Nottingham. |
|
A £21,000 14-seater Sunshine Coach is also now in use at
Manor Park School, Worcester as the result of the generosity
of sponsors EXEL, which chipped in £15,000. EXEL also sponsored a second coach, this time for Merstone School in Marston Green, Birmingham.
Geopost came up trumps again, sponsoring a coach for Old Park School, Dudley.
A 17-seater is now bringing pleasure to the children of
Willingsworth High School at Tipton, Wolverhampton (below).
The coach was sponsored by Nailcote Hall Hotel in Warwickshire, which staged a number of events such as charity golf matches and auctions of golfing memorabilia on behalf of Variety Club Midlands.
Other coaches have also been provided recently for the James Brindley School in Birmingham, Westfield School at Leominster, Castle Hill Special School, Bloxwich, Paternoster School, Cirencester,
Bennerley Fields School, Ilkeston, Kirton Lodge Hotel, Leicester and
Foleshill C of E School, Coventry.
Two other youngsters received electric wheelchairs as the result of fundraising by staff at Wacky Warehouses.
The Midlands region even provided a pony for a local stable of
Riding for the Disabled. In addition many youngsters now know
the pleasure of an increased degree of independence through
being provided with new wheelchairs and trikes.
Andrew, a teenager with cerebral palsy is living away from home for the first time, studying IT at college, so the independence of an electric wheelchair is vital. And fifteen years old Natalie, who
has cerebral palsy and epilepsy was given a Senior Trike to get
around on. She is so tall that she frequently fell when walking or running.
For 11 years old Amanda, another cerebral palsy sufferer, the problem was that the family car was unable to accommodate
a wheelchair, We were able to provide a Convaid Cruiser Buggy
to give her greater mobility.
Fourteen years old Frances was in a car accident that left her
with ongoing back problems. She had to sleep on the floor so a
Jupiter Silent Sleep bed will help to reduce her back pain.
Rebecca (11) and Sarah (13) both have a progressive disorder
of the nervous system that affects balance, co-ordination, movement
and sensation and are wheelchair dependent. Height adjustable
beds have given them greater safety, extra comfort and the ability
to alter the position to relieve muscles.
An electric wheelchair has given Stephen, aged 14, enough
independence to be able to join the Scouts and youth clubs for
the disabled.
But no matter how many we help there are many, many more out there who we could assist with your backing and support!
